Upper Dublin Republican Committee Scholarship
The purpose of this award is to recognize the student or students with an excellent understanding of democracy, in the school, community, and in the country.
Consideration for this award shall be given to all high school seniors in Upper Dublin Township. Candidates must have an active interest in the workings of United States Government and, if old enough, be a registered voter. They must have demonstrated Community Spirit and Leadership Qualities through participation in school and / or community activities. Academic Achievement will be considered, but is not the most important consideration. Candidates may not be related to any elected official in the Township, County, or State.
Recipients of this award shall be selected by the Upper Dublin Republican Committee Scholarship Committee.
The amount of each individual award and the number of recipients shall be determined by the Upper Dublin Republican Committee based on the number of qualified applicants. The total amount available for awards in 2012 is $500.
The term of this award shall be for one academic year. Recipients may not reapply in subsequent years.
Interested candidates should complete the attached information sheet and return it along with an essay on United States Government. Essays should be double spaced, with 1” margins, type written, and should not exceed 500 words.
