In a HUGE upset, Stacy Garrity has defeated incumbent State Treasurer Joe Torsella. Garrity, a 30-year military veteran who was awarded two Bronze Stars, is the first Republican to win the office since 2000.
Stacy joins Auditor General-elect Tim DeFoor as our new watchdogs in Harrisburg to finally hold the Wolf administration accountable! This is the first time Republicans have held both offices at once since 1956.
Republicans FLIP 4 State House Seats!
Republicans have flipped two state House seats, and are in the lead to flip 2 more! Progressive dark money PACs spent tens of millions of dollars to flip the PA house and failed. Our Republican leadership remains strong in Harrisburg, and House Speaker Bryan Cutler is calling for a full audit of the Election before any results are certified. MCRC and its Volunteers Cover Every Minute of the Count and Challenge Hundreds of Provisional Ballots
Over the past week, MCRC along with a team of lawyers and volunteers have been monitoring the count even through the night. Unfortunately, watching the count did not provide us much comfort. We were NOT afforded the ability to look at each mail-in ballot nor were we given an opportunity to check to see if the mail-in ballots received were legitimate. Clearly, the legislature needs to step in and make sure we have complete transparency in elections in the future.
Over 6,000 provisional ballots have not yet been counted but we were provided the opportunity to check the outside envelope in which these ballots were submitted, and we have filed challenges to many of them.
We have received many election-related complaints from voters across the county. If you would like to report an issue you experienced at the polls or with a mail-in ballot please click the below link.
Congratulations to Ward – 1 – UD Commissioner Liz Ferry for her re-election in November!
